HIKE LEADER RESOURCES
GUIDE THE WAY
Become a Hike Leader
GNHA has more than 50 hike leaders who lead group hikes and backpacking trips across the Carolinas. Every hike leader brings their own unique perspective (and pace) to the trails that we love. And we're always on the lookout for new hike leaders who can plan day trips for our club members.
We take the safety of our members seriously and have developed a set of guidelines to ensure our hike leaders are prepared for every adventure that they lead. While each individual hiker is ultimately responsible for their own safety, our hike leaders scout trail conditions prior to the hike and provide a description that includes the hike's length, elevation gain, pace and the amount of time that hikers are expected to spend on the trail.
